11:30 a.m.–Read-a-thon is over.  I managed to squeeze in some reading in the last few hours before I had to hurriedly dress and dash off to church.  I finished Where Serpents Sleep by C. S. Harris.  I think it was the best Sebastian St. Cyr mystery so far.  I really enjoy the mix of Regency and mystery, and the contrast between the upper and lower classes and the nicer and seedier parts of London.

I am reminded again of my love of reading, and also how much time is available to me if I just try a little harder to make some for reading.  2 books completed, 644 pages read,  3 hours 50 minutes listening to audiobooks. Total time read:  12 hours, 30 minutes.

6:30 a.m.–Crashed and burned last night after extended dinner break and a few more hours of reading. Finished Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots by Abby McDonald.  Second book I’ve read by her and she didn’t disappoint–more chick lit that is not just chick lit.  Started Where Serpents Sleep by C.S. Harris, made it more than half way and then decided to turn in for the night. Off to make coffee and try to read to the end.  Time read:  11 hours.

4:30 p.m.–Past the half way mark on Boys, Bears…the house smells like bread, which I let cook too long so it is very dark, but hopefully still edible.  Will need to start dinner soon, so back to The English Assassin.  Am determined to finish something soon.  Time read: 6 hours, 50 minutes.

2:30 p.m.–One third of the way through Boys, Bears…it seems a bit lighter than Sophomore Switch, but still engaging and charming.  Byerly Sisters’ Incredible Chocolate Cake is in the oven, pasta sauce is simmering away on the stove, and artisan bread is rising on the counter, which means another half hour or so of The English Assassin, which, as I predicted, is coming together very nicely.  Checking in online before diving back into the reading.  Time read:  4 hours, 50 minutes.

12:20 p.m.–Off to a slow start, dipped into Abby McDonald’s Boys, Bears and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots, then off to run errands.  I stopped by the library to pick up books on hold, which may be possible titles to add to my reading choices for today.  Then to Joann’s craft store (can’t resist those 50% off coupons…), Target and Publix.  In the car I am listening to Marcus Sakey’s The Amateurs, and on my MP3 player is The English Assassin by Daniel Silva.   I will have more audiobook time later when I start fixing dinner, which is good, because Assassin has me confused in a good way.  Off to check on twitter then back to Boys, Bears. Time read: 2 hours, 40 minutes.

Saturday morning–I have decided to participate in another readathon since I had so much fun this summer with Mother Reader’s 48 Hour Book Challenge.  I got a lot of books read, plus I connected with many wonderful bloggers in the book blogging community.  This read-a-thon is being hosted by Dewey’s Read-a-thon and there will be post throughout the day including a home base post and mini-challenges as well.  And of course, prizes! You can also follow along on twitter, look for the #readathon tag.
